The common cold virus catches us from time to time. A common cold is a viral infection that affects our upper respiratory tract (nose and throat) which gives us these weakening symptoms: runny nose, raspy throat, unstoppable sneeze, cough, watery eyes, and congestion.
You can catch it from another person who is infected with the virus. This usually happens if you touch an object or surface contaminated by infected droplets such as: a computer keyboard, doorknob, or spoon and then touching your mouth or nose. You can also catch it by inhaling tiny droplets of fluid that contain the cold virus that are launched into the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
A cold begins when a virus attaches at the linings of your nose or throat. If your immune system is weak, then you are very much prone to develop the condition. Your nose and throat get inflamed and make a lot of mucus. With so much of your energy directed at fighting the virus, you’re left feeling dead tired and miserable. GOSH!
