Chicken pox just wouldn’t be chicken pox without experiencing acute itching for 7 to 10 days, followed by the appearance of a few small scars that eventually fade away to nothing.
Chicken pox is a disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It is characterized by tiny blisters that are usually less than one-quarter of an inch wide. They eventually fill with fluid that eventually pops, leaving sores which crust over then flakes away.
Chicken pox scars form when a blister becomes unbearably itchy and is then scratched, occasionally leading to an infection. To put it simply, scars do not usually form when C.pox occurs. It’s not the disease – chicken pox – that leads to scars, it’s the severity of the infection – and how well it is handled.
How can we avoid Chicken Pox Scars whenever we got the disease?
- The best way to avoid scarring is to stop the itching. Consult first your General Practitioner before applying calamine lotion, or other anti-itching creams.
- You can placed ice cube directly onto the affected area to temporarily relieve the itch.
- Take an antihistamine.
- You may also try placing Vitamin E oil. Vitamin E oil will help to hydrate the skin which is essential to help the marks on the skin to fade.
However, there are some cases that those chicken pox scars are just placed on your skin a little bit deeper, and they don’t seem to fade when the infection is gone, no matter what you do. So what could be the best thing to do?
