Relationship Between Obesity And Fast Food

Studies have shown that the continuous rise of obesity of today’s world population could be attributed to an increase intake of fast foods accompanied by absence or inadequate physical activity.

Over the past four decades in the US, the consumption of fast food began an alarming issue as it affects children and youth often worse than adults.

Relationship Between Obesity And Fast Food

But why is obesity and fast food connected?
  1. The ingredients used in fast foods are UNHEALTHY.

From burgers to pizza to chicken to tacos, despite of their mouthwatering taste, the underlying content of their food is not good for our health. Fast food ingredients contain tremendous amount of fats, carbohydrates and added sugars. Thus, eating these foods with less healthy contents most likely lead to obesity-related health problems.

According to the researchers at the University of Washington, 2,000-calorie diet of junk food have 10 times lesser cost than a 2,000 calorie healthy diet. This low cost of fast food encourages people to choose it over more expensive healthier food, leading them to obesity-related health problems.

3. Fast Foods are served in whopping large proportions. (No wonder some people get obese in an instant.)

Research has shown that when fast foods are given in larger portion sizes, the average person will still eat their entire meal regardless of whether or not they feel full.

4. The CONVENIENCE fast food brings can cause obesity.

The final factor that makes fast food cause obesity is its convenience, or more specifically, how close fast food restaurants are to your home, job or school. With just a dial, food is brought right in front of your doorstep.

Relationship Between Obesity And Fast Food. Better Cut Down With Burgers And Fries

It’s human nature that we seek convenience (almost all the time), especially if we are so busy at work and we don’t have time to cook for the kids. In this consequence, we’ll probably resort to order meals outside, thus, obesity is at hand. No doubt about it.

Now, you better cut down with burgers and fries or else…
